The Armadyl godsword is one of the four Godswords. Like all godswords, it requires level 75 Attack to wield. It has a special attack called The Judgement which inflicts 25% more damage with a 50% Special bar drain. The Armadyl godsword is considered to be the strongest weapon in the game. Using all the best Strength equipment, boosting potions, and having 99 Strength, a player can hit up to 93+ with its special attack against monsters. Although potentially a player could hit 98 whilst wearing the Castlewar bracelet and using the sword's special attack, this is now impossible due to the fact that the untradable potions cannot be used in pvp areas such as castlewars. This weapon's main competition comes from the Dragon Claws which have a similar hard-hitting special attack. The Godsword is created by Smithing together the three Godsword shards (80 Smithing or higher is required to do this) and putting an Armadyl hilt onto the end (no requirements) creating the wieldable Armadyl godsword.

[edit] Market
In the months following their release in August 2007, Armadyl Godswords were worth 150-200m. However, the price gradually declined, and in September 2008 they were worth only 55m. This was their all-time low. From then, the long-term trend until around May 2009 was a slow rise up to 70m. Then in June 2009 the price started rising faster (mostly due to coins coming into the game from pvp worlds). Despite periodic declines in price and even some full-out crashes, the long-term price trend from June to October 2009 has been a significant increase. In October 2009, the price reached over 100m for the first time in well over a year. The price is currently around 105-110m.
On 15 July 2009, Jagex introduced an update to PVP Worlds and Bounty Hunter Worlds in which players were automatically skulled on entering the world and the Protect Item prayer was disabled on these worlds. Thus, it became impossible to use any item in PvP without having it being lost on death; taking the expensive Armadyl Godsword would have been ludicrous. The Armadyl Godsword, a popular item used by one itemers, along with other itemer weapons such as Dragon Claws and the Saradomin Sword, almost immediately reached dead minimum in the Grand Exchange. The prices on these items fell at the maximum rate for a couple updates. Players in World 2 could be found selling these items for the majority of the cost in junk, or even entirely for junk.
However, on 17 July 2009 Jagex made another update introducing Bounty Worlds (+1 Item). Although players are still unable to use protect from prayer these, the new +1 item worlds allowed everyone to always keep their most valuable item protected.
So, the Armadyl Godsword retained its use in player-killing, and the price recovered.
[edit] Use
The Armadyl godsword is used most commonly in safe PvP minigames, Bounty + 1 item worlds, and killing boss monsters such as General Graardor due to its high hitting special attack. It can be used for training but not as effectively as the Saradomin godsword due to the fact that a slightly larger amount of damage every few minutes is not as useful as healing.

[edit] Trivia
- Armadyl Godsword is currently the most expensive weapon in the game.
- In Runescape the maximum hit of the Armadyl Godsword is 93, with a maximum equipment Strength bonus (excluding cape and helm), a Super strength potion and Piety prayer in castle wars with a castle wars bracelet equipped while entering. A player must switch the bracelet with barrows gloves from Recipe for Disaster and attack the flag holder in a game of castle wars to achieve a max hit. Only under these circumstances will this work.
