Apple mush is created by putting four cooking apples into an "apple barrel", crushing them, and placing the result in a bucket.
Apple barrels can be found at the two breweries, which can be found in 'The Laughing Miner Pub' and 'The Green Ghost'; each of which is in eastern Keldagrim and Port Phasmatys, respectively.
It is used as the main ingredient when brewing cider. Four cooking apples will make one bucket of apple mush.
To make cider one must insert four buckets of apple mush inside the fermenting vat and one pot of yeast, therefore one will need 16 cooking apples in total to make 8 beer glasses or two Calquat kegs full of cider or mature cider.
