The Animated Pickaxe is found only in Daemonheim on the abandoned and Warped floors. It always looks like a Steel pickaxe regardless of tier. Magic attacks work well against Animated Pickaxes. These monsters can hit very accurately for their combat level, even against armour. As such, food or Protect from Melee is advised. Each pickaxe is weak to magic attacks of a particular element.

This monster can drop various pickaxes when killed. The tier of the pickaxe corresponds with the level of the animated pickaxe. For example, promethium pickaxes are only dropped by level 116 animated pickaxes.
