Akrisae's war mace detail
Akrisae's War Mace is a two-handed weapon that is part of Akrisae the Doomed's set of barrows equipment. It becomes available after Ritual of the Mahjarrat and requires 70 Magic, 70 Attack and 70 Prayer to use.

The mace cannot be equipped without completion of Ritual of the Mahjarrat, even if the player has the corresponding skill requirements. It becomes a possible reward from the Barrows minigame upon completion of the quest.

Wearing a full set of Akrisae's equipment, which includes Akrisae's hood, Akrisae's robe skirt, and Akrisae's robe top randomly restores the players Prayer Points equal to roughly 1/3rd of the total damage, and during Player killing situations drains the opponent's prayer at the same time. A smaller prayer drain of roughly 1 point every 15-20 second also occurs, even after battle. The set effect is comparable to Guthan the Infested, but it restores Prayer instead of Life points.

For a time after the Evolution of Combat update, Akrisae's War mace has been labeled as a meleeing weapon and gives no magic accuracy which makes the set effect hard to use since you'll frequently miss and be unable to hit to trigger the set effect. However, with the EoC updates on 30 April 2013, Akrisae's set was reclassed as a hybrid armor, allowing all three combat styles to be used equally as effective as each other, making the set effect more reliable to use.

Repair Edit

Barrows equipment degrades as it is used. Equipment received from the Barrows minigame is fully repaired and can be used for 15 hours of combat until it degrades completely and requires repair before it can be used again. Barrows armour degrades even if the player is using protection prayers or not taking damage. Like the crystal shield and crystal bow, Barrows equipment does not suffer in performance as it degrades from fully repaired to fully degraded. Fully repaired Barrows items start out with no numbers in their names, e.g. Akrisae's war mace. It will become Akrisae's war mace 100 the first time it's used in combat. Eventually it will degrade to Akrisae's war mace 75, then 50, then 25 and finally 0 at which point the armour will be unusable until repaired. Additionally, Barrows equipment may only be traded if fully repaired or fully degraded.

When dropped or lost on death (even when placed under a gravestone), any piece of Barrows equipment will automatically degrade to 0. Players who attempt to drop Barrows equipment will receive a warning message about this.

There are two ways to repair Barrows armour. Players can talk to any of the NPCs listed below and they will repair the items for a price, or repair the pieces themselves using an armour stand in any player-owned house. The equipment can be repaired at any stage, and the cost will be adjusted according to how much it has degraded. The repair costs below are as if the equipment has fully degraded.

The following NPCs can repair the armour:

NPC POH Armour Stand
Level 1 Smithing Level 99 Smithing
Helm 180,000 179,100 90,900

TriviaEdit

  • Akrisae's war mace is currently bugged to have only half the damage rating it should have. As a level 70 two-handed weapon, it is entitled to a damage rating of 1564. However, its actual damage rating places it between a mithril 2h sword and an adamant 2h sword in terms of damage capability.
