Air runecrafting gloves are a reward that can be purchased with 75 tokens from the Fist of Guthix minigame. They give double runecrafting experience when crafting air runes. This effect lasts for the crafting of 1,000 rune essence, for a total of 10,000 Exp (Net gain 5,000 Exp). After crafting 1,000 essence, they crumble to dust. The air runecrafting gloves require level 10 runecrafting to wear and are untradeable. They are the lowest runecrafting gloves one can buy. Many players purchase them for looks due to their pure white colour, rather than actually using them. They are used with the full Saradomin set because White gloves are not available to f2p. As with other runecrafting gloves, it cannot be used for assisting work if you are the runner in air running. Doing so will cause the assister to STEAL the charges from you! In contrast to this, a runecrafter who is air running can make full use of it as a rapid supply of essence is available to him.
When they are used up, the chat box says, "The charges in your gloves have been used up and they crumble to dust." Players can right-click on the gloves in their inventory and click "Inspect" (or "Operate" when equipped) to see how many charges they have left.
[edit] Using the Gloves
Crafting air runes with these gloves gives the same amount of experience as crafting death runes, also you will only need Rune essence, which costs 64 coins compared with 169 coins for Pure essence. At level 33 you will create 4x air runes, this makes the air gloves very useful as the prices of air runes is currently 12 coins. You can make a slight profit even when buying the rune essence from the Grand Exchange, currently this profit is -16 per piece of rune essence. This is explained better in the table below. The gloves CANNOT be sold, only alched.
The following table assumes you are crafting 28 essence at a time, and buying the rune essence from the Grand Exchange:
