Absorb Magic is the percentage at which magic damage done to the player is reduced, this can be found on the equip screen under defence bonuses.
Ranged armours (and magic armours to a lesser extent) increase the Magic Absorb percentage.
The best magic absorption percentage is made by using Ganodermic Visor, Ganodermic Poncho, Ganodermic Leggings, Eagle-eye kiteshield giving 67% total.
