The Abomination is the mutated form of the dragonkin Tarshak, and the final boss of the Hero's Welcome quest. It can be found in Tarshak's sanctum in the Brimhaven Dungeon. The second phase of the Abomination may be fought again after the quest by using the "refight" option on the Bane ore rockfall.

During phase 1 of the quest fight, the Abomination has 198,000 lifepoints, although it cannot be attacked. Instead, the player must chip away at the pillars and destroy them to collapse a bunch of bane ore in the ceiling. After the collapse, phase 2 of the fight begins, but due to bane ore collapsing on the Abomination, it's health will be reduced to 66,000.

Despite using melee, the Abomination has a unique mechanic where if attacked from a distance, it will charge at the player, stunning them and then using two melee attacks on them, similar to fighting a Gladius.

The Abomination has very high defence, even so that high levelled equipment will miss often against it; it is unknown if Dragonbane ammo will deal extra damage and accuracy towards it. Like in the quest fight, falling bane rocks and fire from the ground will hurt the Abomination for 495 damage repeatedly, so it should be lured onto them whenever possible to kill it faster. It also retains the stun attack Tarshak used during the first fight with him; not avoiding it will deal 1300-1500 classless damage and stun the player.

Although there are some safespots to use, the Abomination can easily get out of the safespot and start attacking the player. In addition, bane rocks may fall on the safespot, so it is advised to simply use Protect Melee or Deflect Melee and tank its attacks, luring it to nearby fires and falling bane rocks when needed.
