The 3rd age platebody is a members-only piece of armour that is part of the Third age warrior set.

To wear the platebody the player needs at least 65 Defence. To obtain a third age platebody the player can either complete a Level 3 Treasure trail (The chance of receiving a 3rd age piece is said to be 1 in 10,000) or trade with another player. As with all of this kind of equipment, this piece of armour cannot be made using the Smithing skill. It currently has the second best crush defence bonus in the game for a piece of torso armour, beating Barrows' stats, but falling behind Ancient Warrior's equipment (Statius). It is the third best non-degradable platebody in the game, Although the Dragon Platebody has higher stats, this has a higher crush bonus. Also the Bandos set offers better Range and strength stats so it is more commonly used as it also has a far cheaper price.

Interestingly enough, the statistics on the 3rd Age Plate resemble a chainmail rather than a platemail. It has 0 Range attack bonus, is weak to stab and range, and resistant to crush and slash.

Moreover, this platebody is known for being the single most expensive piece of body armour in RuneScape.
