The 2008 April Fools' Day event/joke was the fourth joke of its kind, released on 1 April 2008. It was very similar to the first and second joke and again involved Diango. With popular demands for a "Dragon kiteshield" Jagex released a Dragon kite for sale at his stall for 100 coins. The item was instead a red kite with the Legends' Guild dragon icon on it that could be wielded and flown in the air.

After a couple of days, the Dragon Kite was renamed Toy Kite.

The release of the real dragon kiteshield has been announced and is now dropped by the Queen Black Dragon. The Dragon platebody was also another April fools joke that was genuinely released.
