List of things that happened in RuneScape in 2006.

• RuneScape Knowledge Base introduced.
• On June 6th, there was an infamous glitch during Cursed You's level 99 Construction party.
• 2006 Easter event
• 2006 Halloween event
• 2006 Christmas event
• Player Owned Houses are released under the Construction Skill on May 31, following an unsuccessful attempt in 2001.
• The Hunter Skill is released in November.
• The 100th Quest in Runescape Recipe for Disaster is released.
• Area guides released for the RuneScape Knowledge Base.
• Players' Gallery released in October.
• Interface makeover in September.

[edit] Game events

• Mage Training Arena mini-game, Hand in the Sand and Enakhra's Lament quests, Agility Pyramid and Runeversi and Runesquares additions to the Burthorpe Games Room were the main events of January.
• Cabin Fever and A Fairy Tale Part I quests, and a bumper update (includes release of the Chaos Elemental and the Dragon Two Hander, more Treasure Trails rewards and graphics update in the following areas; Zanaris, Draynor Manor, Barbarian Village, Falador and Dark Wizards' Tower) are all the main events of February.
• Giant Mole, canoeing transport, Temple Trekking and In Aid of the Myreque are released in March.
• Pest Control mini-game, A Soul's Bane and Rag and Bone Man quests are introduced in April.
• Swan Song and Royal Trouble quests released in May, as well as Construction.
• Death to the Dorgeshuun quest and Warrior's guild released in June.
• In July, the mini-game Pyramid Plunder was released, as well as the Stronghold of Security, Trouble Brewing mini-game, Lunar Diplomacy and A Fairy Tale Part II quests and new smithable crossbows.
• August gives us The Eyes of Glouphrie quest, Gnome Restaurant mini-game, new ranger and mage prayers, charter ships and the selection of monster graphics updates (dragons, demons and giants).
• Darkness of Hallowvale and Slug Menace quests, as well as skill tutors in Lumbridge and area sound effects in September.
• Elemental Workshop II and My Arm's Big Adventure quests, capes of achievement, costume rooms for POHs and the graphical updates for bats, bears and rats.
• Enlightened Journey and Eagle's Peak quests released, Imp makeover made early and the Hunter skill in November.
• Finally in December comes Animal Magnetism quest, Third Age equipment for Treasure Trails and makeovers for spiders, sheep and Gu'Tanoth.

January 19, 2006 - THE GREAT PURGE II: MACRO WARS... over 15,000 accounts were destroyed for Macroing in the 4th (present) version.
