The 15 Year Anniversary Celebrations were a group of events marking 15 years of RuneScape, involving a party area, balloons, and a special anniversary edition of The Drop.

Party garden[]

The hub of the anniversary celebrations was the party garden located east of the Falador lodestone, north of Falador. While in this area players could speak to Party Pete to receive a free 15th anniversary party box.

The party garden contains a food banquet, including a RuneScape birthday cake which the player could eat a slice of every 3 minutes to regain life points according to their Constitution level. Once per day players could use any of the banquet tables to receive a 5% experience buff that lasts for 24 hours and affects experience gained within the party area. This was removed at 1 February's reset, and attempting to gain the bonus will prompt: "The table has lost its ability to give out bonuses."

Statues[]

There is also a statue garden that can contain 15 statues in total, each representing one of the 15 years of RuneScape. Statues could be found by interacting with the strange portals that spawned across free-to-play areas of Gielinor, by claiming the rewards from the 15th anniversary party box and by popping balloons during the balloon drops.

Finding statues granted the player the following rewards:

Following the end of 2016, the statues were moved by Fame to Anniversary island.

The Drop: 15th Anniversary Edition[]

Every 30 minutes, a special edition of The Drop took place, accessible by talking to Fame in the party garden. Answering all 15 questions about the history of RuneScape correctly unlocked the title [Name] the Historian and a huge bonus XP star.

Balloon drop[]

Every 30 minutes there was a balloon drop of purple, yellow, and silver balloons that took place at all lodestones, except the 2015 Christmas event and Prifddinas lodestones. A world announcement occured 2 minutes before the balloon drop. Players could pop up to 50 balloons each day. All unpopped balloons disappeared after 1 minute of being on the ground.

Popping the balloons yielded the following rewards:

Trivia[]

  • During the first week of the celebrations, balloons were not dropped at the Eagles' Peak lodestone.
