Hi everyone, I am nominating myself for adminship. I’ve been here for roughly half a year (since the 5th of June) and have a total of Special:Editcount/Calebchiam edits, close to a thousand of them being mainspace edits. This isn’t much compared to some users, but I believe it shows that I am dedicated to improving this wiki. Most of my image edits are adding templates as I don’t have any fancy software to edit any images I take. To put it very simply, I believe I could benefit the wiki more if I had sysop powers. These are my reasons:

• Vandals. They are pretty much here every single day because anyone and everyone can edit. Not that I’m saying that anyone and everyone being able to edit is a bad thing. In any case, I feel that if I could deal with the vandal myself instead of being the middleman (reporting the vandal, which I've done quite a number of times), it would save a lot of trouble. In fact, just a few days ago, the list of vandals was full. And there weren’t any sysops around to block these vandals.
• Deleting pages. Sometimes there are vandals who create nonsensical pages, preventing me from doing anything (cannot rollback), but that pretty much belongs above. But there are times where I had to add a Speedy Deletion template to a bad redirect, personal images or a good-willed attempt to create an article (that is actually a duplicate but with different wording). One example of a bad redirect is [1], which automatically redirected to green dragon in spite of the fact that there are hundreds of items that start with “green”. I added the deletion template to it, of course. I've noticed many times where there are Speedy Deletion candidates "waiting" for a sysop to delete the page or remove the template. I could save other sysops the trouble, because I always check the Speedy deletion candidates right after I sign in.
• Protecting pages. Isn’t really used much but there are times when vandals repeatedly vandalise one single page. Protecting/Semi-protecting the page would prevent this and give me time to revert the vandalism and block the vandals.

Thus with these powers, I truly believe I could benefit this wiki more. If anyone disagrees, feel free to say so (and list the examples, of course). C.Chiam^Talk 09:51, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

If I do get community consensus, I promise not to abuse my powers because I realize that this is a serious offence and if the community finds that I have done so, my powers will be revoked and in extreme cases I could be given a community ban. Support - The user has been doing a great job, and is also often on during the night at frequent times where admins are not always available to moderate. They deserve to have these rights.
