The Slayer Masters are a group of individuals who offer Slayer assignments. They are members of the Order of the Slayer Masters, a group dedicated to the eradication of dangerous beasts. The Order was founded by Catolax and Faiza amongst others. Each Slayer Master has a disciple, intended to replace them or another Master should they prove unable to do their duties.

The Slayer Masters differ in the difficulty and number of monsters they assign, as well as the number of Slayer points they offer. All standard Slayer Masters also sell useful Slayer equipment.

After Smoking Kills is completed, the completion of tasks from a standard Slayer Master starting after the fourth completed in a row will grant double Slayer points, excluding tasks assigned by Turael or Spria. If the quest has not been completed, the amount of points received will be half, rounded down.

Standard Slayer Masters[]

Turael/Spria[]

Turael chathead
Turael1

The location of Turael/Spria.

Turael, and his daughter and replacement, Spria, are the easiest Slayer Masters. They have no minimum combat or Slayer level requirements before players may receive assignments.

They are located west of the Burthorpe Lodestone.

If a player receives an assignment they do not wish to do, both Turael and Spria may give an easier assignment if the player talks to them. This always works if the assignment is for a creature that isn't assigned by them, and will also work if the player is on a special Slayer challenge. Normally, Turael and Spria will not reassign a task if they can assign that creature themselves. For example, if Duradel assigned a player Desert lizards, then Turael/Spria may not change the task, as they too assign Desert lizards. However, if the number of creatures to be slain is far greater than what he would assign, it is possible that he will change the task. For example, if Duradel assigned 140+ Kalphites, then Turael/Spria will change this, as they would not assign that many to kill. In this case, Turael/Spria will give a new assignment, a new creature to slay or fewer of the same creature - its an entirely new drawing so you can receive the same monster. It is impossible for a player to get Turael/Spria to reassign a task that they gave out.

Slayer points[]

Completion of a task assigned by Turael/Spria will not grant any Slayer points nor will they count towards increasing your task total; replacing the task will actually reset the task total, but obtaining a new task while not assigned one by another slayer master will not.

During Missing, Presumed Death, Frank, one of Death's clan mates, takes over the Soul Reaper.

The Raptor chathead

The Raptor briefly became a Slayer Master for the month of November 2015. During this time, he assigned players 1 task per day, which was counted separately from normal Slayer assignments. He had his own gem which could be used to contact him. Once the month was over, he moved on, finding being a Slayer Master boring.

The player[]

Main article: Slayer Codex

Players can start the path to becoming their own slayer master by talking to Faiza in the Sunken Pyramid, requiring at least level 99 Slayer. The player needs to collect the soul of every slayer creature, which requires level 117 Slayer to collect them all. However this can be boosted.

Former[]

Catolax[]

Catolax chathead

Catolax is a founder of the Order of the Slayer Masters and the husband of Faiza. He managed to anger Amascut, who slew him and bound his ghost to his tomb for millennia. During the quest Smoking Kills, his spirit is discovered and freed, after which he takes up residence at the Pollnivneach Slayer Dungeon. He does not offer Slayer assignments.

Faiza[]

Faiza chathead

Faiza is a founder of the Order of the Slayer Masters and the wife of Catolax. After Catolax was killed for angering Amascut, the goddess travelled to the Sunken Pyramid and killed Faiza, binding her ghost to the pyramid. She explains the history of the Slayer Masters and gives players with 99 Slayer the Slayer Codex and a number of ushabti, and allows them to personalise the Sunken Pyramid into their own slayer dungeon.

Trivia[]

  • One of the possible City Quests involves a random Menaphos citizen temporarily becoming a Slayer Master, assigning three random tasks. They may occasionally award Slayer points for completing their tasks, though their tasks do not affect a player's task streak.
